The Univeristy's century old Block

Makerere University will confer degrees and award diplomas to 13712 students next week during its 66th graduation ceremony to be held at the Freedom Square.

This means that there is a drop in the number of graduands by 64 up from 13,776 that graduated last year.

The four-day graduation celebration starts on January 19 and will be preceded by the installation, into the office of university chancellor, of Dr Ezra Suruma who replaces Prof Mondo Kagonyera.

OVER 5,000 QUALIFYING STUDENTS MISS OUT

Meanwhile, over 5,000 qualifying students will miss the much-coveted ceremony s. Students were seen wiping their tears after the final lists were pinned at some colleges.
