Celebrated musician Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, who is also the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, has been banned by police from staging music concerts and all rallies around the country.
Bobi Wine has in the recent past been staging music concerts in several parts of the country like Mbarara, Mubende, Mbale, Jinja, and recently had a concert at his One Love Beach in Busabala.
However the police reveal that instead of singing at these concerts, Bobi Wine and several opposition politicians have been using his music concerts as a platform to air out his political ideas.
Today police has summoned singer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, who is also the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament.
The police want Bobi Wine to explain that he is allegedly inciting the masses through his music concerts, which he has since turned into political rallies.
Revealing why the singer has been summoned, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Commandant Frank Mwesigwa said that;
“We want him to know that there is a difference between Bobi Wine and Hon Robert Kyagulanyi, we have noticed that Bobi Wine has been turning into Hon Kyagulanyi to make political statements at Music shows, which is not what we agreed on.”
This however comes at a time when the police have just banned Bobi Wine from staging any music concerts in Uganda, over allegations that instead of singing, he uses the music concerts as political forum.
By press time however, it wasn’t yet clear whether Bobi Wine or his lawyers had received the summons.
