Gashumba through his lawyers has filed a law suite against the army over un lawful detention.Gashumba and his brother Innocent are still being held at Special Investigations Unit at Kireka.

Unconfirmed reports say Mr Gashumba had been picked as part of a wider network of individuals who are spying for the government of Rwanda. Many UGandans have been fired from their Jobs following his arrest.
